Liquid, Powder, Stick, Black, Mauve, Violet – Choosing Right Eyeliner 2010

Liquid, powder, stick, black, mauve, violet? There are so many different types, variations and ways of doing eyeliner that it is almost impossible not to be confused when starting out using it. The bad news – sometimes eyeliner just isn’t for everyone. The good news – deciding whether or not it’s right for you is easier than you think, and sometimes the answer can change. Learning a little about which eyeliners and colors to use when can help a lot when getting started in the overwhelming world of eyeliners.

Deciding what type to use should always come first when dealing with eyeliner. For a woman with a very steady hand and confident stroke, liquid eyeliner really isn’t as complicated as it is for a woman whose hand is a little less steady. Powder eyeliner, however, is really not good for anyone’s eyes or wallet. First of all, you can buy eye shadow for much less and use it as a powder eyeliner, and second, powder is almost unanimously voted the hardest to apply. For a shaky or steady hand, the stick eyeliners are a really good choice – just make sure to buy a sharpener, as they work best when sharpened.

Colors of eyeliners really isn’t as difficult as you may think. Often the color eyeliner you should be wearing is just a shade or so darker than the eye shadow you’re wearing – remember you want to enhance your naturally beautiful eyes, not hide them behind thick eyeliner. Or try eyeliner in a contrasting shade to draw attention to your eyes.
