The way to deal with this is to take a tissue, roll it up, and place it between your lips and gently remove it. This will get rid of the excess lipstick.

Lipstick has a tendency of bleeding into the lines that surround your lips. This is partly due to too much lipstick at the edges of your lips and also because there is nothing to keep the lipstick in place. To avoid this you should use lip liner. This will keep your lipstick at bay and prevent it from bleeding, and it has the added advantage of making your lipstick last longer. If you are going to do this then make sure the liner matches the lipstick.
The disappearing act
Lipstick starts to come off from the moment you put it on. While you are talking, eating, drinking, and laughing it will slowly be fading. There are a number of things you can do to ensure that it lasts longer. One way is to use a powder, which helps it to set and not smudge off so easily. The other option is to buy long-lasting lipstick, but always make sure you buy a reputable one.

4. Long lasting lip color. These can also be drying, but hold up with lip balm very well. They usually have a very smooth texture. They do fade quickly with lip balm use, but if used a little less often, it can generally increase the amount of time it lasts.

Lipstick is the first item girls usually pick out of the makeup bag when it comes to looking fashionable. The problem is that nine times out of ten there is at least one mistake that wreaks havoc. If you are in this situation and just aren’t getting it right then here are a few simple steps you can follow to get the perfect lips.
1. Make sure you have everything ready. This will include tissues, cotton pads, lipstick brush, the right shade of lipstick, cleansing solution, lip liner and translucent powder.
2. The first thing you have to do is clean your lips. This will get rid of any previous lipstick, dirt and grease. Avoid using soap and rather use a special cleansing milk. This can be applied using a cotton ball or pad.
3. Use the lip liner to draw a line around your lips. Depending on how big you want your lips to be you can draw the line within or without the natural border of your lips. This will create the illusion of a change in size or shape of your lips.
4. You can then fill in your lips with lipstick. You can do so directly from the tube, but this does tend to create excess lipstick and you may overfill your lips. Using a brush to fill in your lips is preferred, as it can be applied more smoothly and you won’t have the hassle of excess.
5. Next, take a tissue and roll it up. Put it between your lips and remove it gently. This will help you to get rid of all the excess lipstick so you won’t end up with a smudge or lipstick on your teeth later on.
6. Lightly apply some translucent powder. This will help your lipstick last longer.

One key to having smooth lips that hold my lip color is Blistex. I had used the Raspberry Lemonade (ahhhh…) for a few months when I discovered I needed something a bit stronger.
In explanation, I discovered that I have a bad skin reaction to a combination of Blistex and Noxzema. It wasn’t an intentional mixing, but it wasn’t a good one either. I awoke to puffy, cracking, dried out lips. I couldn’t even fully open my mouth because of how bad it was. My regular Blistex wasn’t working and I was almost out anyways. I quit the Noxzema. It wasn’t working for me, and I certainly wasn’t giving up my Blistex. I used up my Blistex, hoping it would help. The results weren’t much better. So, I grabbed my best guy friend and we headed up to 7-Eleven aka Blistex Carrier Heaven.

I almost grabbed my usual Raspberry Lemonade, but with the medicated kind caught my mind. I paid for it, and unwrapped it as soon as we go inside.
The second I applied my this kind of Blistex, I knew it was a good idea. It was just as smooth, and I could feel it gently tingling on my lips. I reapplied it frequently over the night and the next day, my lips were peeling, but not painful as they had been for four days. I could open my mouth! My lips are back to being smooth and I am working on the very corners of my lips which took the most damage, but they are doing pretty well. My mouth is still openable, so I am happy.
I am a little disappointed you can’t taste this product, but knowing me, I’d lick it all off and have even more problems if it was good tasting. There is a hint of mint if you lick your lips, but it’s more of the feel of mint without the taste. Like when you feel the tingle, but no taste. Taste aside, this is a prime example of why I stick with Blistex. It works for me, isn’t sticky, and makes my lips smooth with regular application.

I was looking for a lipstain when I found this product. I have pale lips that are causing me a few problems—namely that my mom would look at me and tell me to go eat immediately. I have a very minor case of hypoglycemia and pale lips used to be an indicator my sugar was dropping. Needless to say, this aggravated me because I was fine and had just eaten when she told me to go eat AGAIN. So lipstains it was.
Or so I thought. Honestly, the ideas of lipstains scared me. I’m willing to try anything with eye makeup, but when it came to lips, I usually wore way too bright red lipstick. True, it was a good shade of red, and looked great on me, but it wasn’t good for daily use. So when I saw NYC, a company I am familiar with, especially in the lip color department (the company I found my red lipstick with.), I jumped at the opportunity to take a look.
The product has two ends. One has lip gloss with a brush while the other has the lip color with a lipgloss applicator. The lip gloss kind of made me flinch for a second. I hate lip gloss. It’s goopy and sticky and I hate it. It makes my hair stick to my lips and looks way too shiny and I hate it. Did I mention I hate it? All joking aside, I was also worried about the product color. The only one that looked close to my shade was a bright pinkish color. So I tried it.
First of all, I love the lip gloss. It hasn’t converted me to a lip gloss wearer, but it’s as smooth and slick as my favorite lip balm and my hair only gets stuck in it occasionally, and not usually after it dries a little. The applicator could be better but the texture of the lip gloss makes up for it. It helps to seal in the color too, even after the shine fades away.
I liked the colors too. The first one I tried was 481 “Dreamer”. Even though it appeared to be a bright pink, it was a little bit more muted and worked well with my coloring (pale. Very pale.). I liked that color enough to buy 483 “Heartbreaker” which is a darker pink. It worked even better with my coloring and is most likely going to be my primary lip color.
There are a few drawbacks, however. If you use lip balm under or over this or both, it will fade quite quickly. On the flip side, if you have dry lips, the color will pill and look clumpy and gross. The trick is to have well moisturized lips without using a whole bunch of lip. My suggestion is to try one day on and one day off. Alternate with your favorite lip balm because, despite its benefits, this lip color is rather drying.
